El Cafecito in Grants

The blue corn enchiladas are super good! I've had a couple other things that are also good. The service is great and they are fast getting the food out.

Very reasonably priced local restaurant. Great place to try when passing through. About a mile from hotels, very clean, friendly people and fast service.

El Cafe breakfast burritos slap. The green chili is especially good. Best I’ve had in New Mexico.

I have no idea how anyone could give the food good reviews. I actually started laughing as I tasted my food. The "crispy" taco shell was tough and bendy and the ground beef was unseasoned. My enchilada was a mushy mess, the rice was like canned tomato soup with rice, the beans had no flavor and seemed like they were reconstituted. The red sauce was starchy and flavorless. The salsa was like canned stewed tomatoes. The sopapillas were tough as leather as though they had been microwaved. On the positive side the staff was friendly and the decor was nice. If you want a good meal, though, don't go here.

We were traveling through from St. Louis Missouri and the owner was extremely helpful! He was so kind and gave us amazing suggestions. The only negative thing I have to say is that we don’t have this place back home!

I really really enjoyed my combo meal which consisted of tacos, enchilada and chimichanga. Why I haven’t stopped before when going through town is beyond me and I’ll be coming back every chance I get.

WOW! Excellent food! If you ask for the green chili sauce, you better be ready for it. It’s not like in the Midwest! Traveling from Joplin, MO with my brother Rick and this was a great stop!!!

I am not really a type of person to complain or make bad comments against any establishment and or restaurant however I usually get food from there at least five times a week and every time I get food from there carry out especially it seems as if the cook is just in a hurry and throws my burrito in a piece of foil regardless if it is wrapped up nicely or if it's just thrown in there and it is really really greasy the past couple of times drenched in greese I mean. If u are cooking would you eat a gresey meal

This restaurant was one of the most awful dining experiences in my life. The hostess and waitress left in charge were very, very rude to me. They made me cry in front of everyone at the restaurant arguing with me about my ticket. I simply was asking questions of why I was charged certain amounts for our bill and they yelled at me. The hostess was very unprofessional and threw my ticket at me. The waitress left in charge Debbie didn’t handle the situation correctly and yelled at me also. I felt attacked and very disrespected for being Navajo. I really believe they don’t respect Navajo women. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. I never do online reviews but this restaurant was my worst luncheon experience ever. Please don’t give them service.

El Cafecito always provides us with our morning fuel for our busy days ahead! A simple call in and walk across Santa Fe and we’re greeted with smiles and a “Good morning!” From everyone, including the owners. Our customers consistently rave about their quality of food. Great prices, convenient and friendly, couldn’t ask for more!

The chili was great it was the hottest thing I've ever eaten

I really tried to not give a low rating, but the fact that my taco had no crunch and was hard to chew. The meat on the chimichanga was not very warm, the beans were ok, the rice not so much. Then enchilada (cheese) was the only decent thing. The sopapia wasn't even warm enough to melt butter had I had any. I feel bad because the staff was nice. But this food needs a make over.

Great friendly place to have Authentic Mexican food waitresses are really nice there. Prices are very decent a must stop while passing though town or even if ur a local and want something good to eat. Highly recommended thank you El Cafecito for making that great food for us even if we have to walk across the street

My favorite is the chicken tostada with beans and guacamole. The prices are cheap. It's always clean. The wait staff is friendly and efficient.

Lots of food that was quite tasty! The red chile had flavor in the green had bite! I ordered the combination plate, it comes with the enchilada a chimichanga and a taco. Decent food however, the $6 guacamole that I ordered left a bad taste in my mouth, basically paid for 2 avocados and some chips. Neither with any flavor, it tasted kind of bland in old and the chips were stale. Other than a glitch in the guacamole... Good food and decent staff. I'll eat here again...

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was great! The service was fast and staff where great. I reccomend their green chilli if u like spicy food and a combination plate . You get what u pay for here. Definitely stop in here.

Waited an hour to get our food, when our food arrived my husband asked for the coffee he had ordered. He finished his food and still no coffee. When I was halfway done with my crepe I saw a long curly hair cooked and mixed in with my cheese. I took my plate to the register and the lady said sorry and asked if I wanted another one. I told her no and just asked for a refund for the coffee we never received. I wish I would have taken a picture of the hair but I was so upset I took it straight to the front.

Very good New Mexican food. I could never get tired of the selection of food on the menu ( highly recommend eating breakfast here). The food style is very home cooked with all the cozy vibes included. The service is very friendly and the waitress stops by frequently. It may look packed from the outside but inside it is always roomy. Any time I pass through, I like to stop here.

Very good food and seems authentic when I ate the fiery green chili sauce. Could have a better menu selection. Nice atmosphere too. This restaurant been open over 33 years we were told and you can see why it has been so long.

Excellent service with nice people. The food is reasonably priced. It is not five star Mexican food but it's good. I would recommend it if your in Grant and want Mexican food.

I stopped in the other night for the first time. The place seemed clean and the staff was pretty friendly. The menu is small so that was nice. I had the combo plate with red chili. The chili had a good flavor too it and was mildly spicy. I highly recommend the chimichangas and queso dip.

The food here is amazing the staff was super friendly service was great the green chili had so much flavor. The prices are very reasonable and the portion size is spot on great atmosphere I enjoyed my meal with my sister I will be going back.

Good tacos, weird flautas, but edible, weird beans, but edible and the worst rice ever! The guac was good also. Better than any fast food place in town though!

Food and service were ok. Nothing bad to say, I have just been to places with better food. Also chips and salsa did not come with the meal as they do in most Mexican food establishments.

While vacationing in New Mexico in Sept 2019, My son took me to El Cafecito for my 62nd birthday. I totally loved the service, as I am a waitress myself. The food was delicious and we chose a lot from the menu. I chatted with the owner a bit and felt he took a lot of pride in his business. I was extremely surprised by the affordability of the menu. I will definitely go there again on my next trip.

"El Cafecito: small cup of coffee or black coffee". Stopped in for lunch while driving from Fort Collins, CO to Phoenix, AZ. You just know you've landed at the right spot when a restaurant is full of locals. We were greeted and seated immediately and within 60 seconds our server came over and introduced herself and set us up with drinks. The menu is impressive, the prices very reasonable, and the food is as authentic Mexican as you can hope for. Just take a look at my pics.

We actually had this restaurant cater our wedding and their food was and still is so delicious!! The employees are so friendly and attentive. The only negative thing we encountered was that my husband's the cheese in his enchilada wasn't melted. So it was just the corn tortilla with cold shredded cheese. But the rest of our meals were so yummy. The chips and salsa was my favorite appetizer. I just wish the salsa had more of a kick, but it did have a ton of flavor. 😋
